Hunter X Harvest

What is this? This is intended as a cozy RPG that focuses on the rewarding vibes of a slow life and on adventuring to improve and protect your home and community.

A new chapter. Your character may have been an epic adventurer, a burned-out worker, or even a fearsome villain, but they left most of that behind to start a new life in a different place or even a different world.

If you know games like Story of Seasons, Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, or Stardew Valley, you already get the general tone.

Chill. You will be spending time around your farm, making it the thing you want it to be. You may go around the local community, meet NPCs, and help them with their problems. Slowly, you will learn about what else is out there…

Adventure. The other half of the game. You already have some serious skills or magic, so why not make use of that? You venture out into the zones to get your hands on rare materials, hunt the dangerous monsters that plague the surroundings, look for tasty ingredients, or delve into ancient ruins to find the perfect gift. Make this new world your own, enjoy it, protect it, and make it better.

Don’t be limited. “Farm” is just the term used throughout the book. You are by no means limited to a classical farm. You can also re-flavor and run:

• A tavern on the back of a creature swimming/flying through the cloud sea. 
• A cute bakery in a frontier town of a dangerous world.
• People stranded on a strange island.

System

• The system uses a simple dice pool with a general succeed-at-a-cost vibe. 
• Characters have a main resource that represents the physical and mental energy available for tasks and stressful situations. By spending it, you can often turn a failure into a success. 
  • This resource is also used up by certain abilities or when a monster takes a bite out of you.
  • Replenish it by chilling on your farm or by triggering character-specific situations or actions: your so-called vibes. 
• Easy character creation: assign 4 stats, pick 3 abilities, and choose a magic item or a pet.
• Choose a pregen character or mix and match abilities to create your perfect build.

The 104 pages include rules for character creation, cozy activities, rules for leveling up your farm and community, some monsters to hunt, some ideas for a setting, a brief player/GM section, as well as random tables for quests, NPCs, festivals, and monsters.
